Hornby Driver Training are committed to helping young drivers (and their passengers) have the appropriate attitude to their responsibilities on the road. John Hornby works as a volunteer on behalf of Brake, the road safety charity, to deliver presentations at no cost to schools and colleges to help students build awareness of the risks of being a new driver.
Audience:
The road Safety Ineractive Presentation entitled "Too Young To Die", is designed for teenagers (15-18 year olds). It is an ideal addition to PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) sessions, Health Days and General Studies for school or colleges. The presentation can be delivered to group sizes of10 to 30 people as a part of the presentation involves discussions in small groups.
Aim and Objectives:
The aim is to increase the awareness of young people to the risks faced by driving and being a passenger on the modern road. By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to :

Explain the risks faced by young drivers and passengers and the extent of road death and injury in the UK

Understand why young drivers are more at risk on the road

Descibe the consequences that can result from dangerous driving

Discuss the effects of road death and injury on casualties and their family and friends

Understand how to stay safe on the road
Presentation Content and Length:
The presentation takes approximately two hours to deliver (including 15 minutes to show Brake's "Too Young to Die" DVD).
The course can be delivered in one session, or split into two one hour sessions.
