Motorway Driving Theory

45 minute presentation and discussion.

By the end of the lesson you will be able to:

• Understand the differences between normal roads and motorways
• Explain what to do before driving on motorways
• Describe the important aspect of driving on motorways
• Be prepared for what to do in exceptional circumstances
• Drive on motorways with more confidence and understanding

Motorway Driving Practical

1 hour in car practice and assessment

By the end of the lesson you will be able to:

• Practice the driving plan
• Safely enter and exit motorways by a variety of junctions
• Use the motorway system safely, effectively and within the law
• Interact and overtake other traffic safely and effectively

Route Planning and Care Safety

30 minute homework activity and 15 minute pre-drive checks

By the end of the lesson you will be able to:

• Read a map and devise a route plan
• Be confidence in planning routes and contingencies
• Demonstrate the car safety checks required before motorway driving

Motorway Driving Practical

2 hours in car practice

By the end of the lesson you will be able to:

• Put previous learning into practice and contine to drive safely and considerately
• Demonsttrate ability to follow your route plan
• Follow directions from own notes
• Use a Satelite Navigation system safely
• Apply learning points for future driving

The full package described above costs £50.  This involves 3 hours in car driving and 1.5 hours theory.
